QIC are suppliers of aluminium extrusions and fabrications based in Buckingham.
“They completely understood what we needed” Wickens visited site to discuss QIC’s requirements. They needed a storage system to store lengths of aluminium bar and sheet aluminium. These had previously been stored on the floor so they couldn’t store them higher than head height. QIC said that “we had no storage before and we were wasting a lot of space previously. We wanted to fully utilise the height of the building.”
Flexibility in design
QIC needed a system which could store all of their variously sized products. To make sure that this was possible, Wickens contacted QIC’s suppliers to discuss the different product specifications available.
60% increase in storage capacity
As part of recent expansion they extended their factory to create a dedicated storage area. It was also important that the new racking was compatible with their existing forklift trucks. “We wanted to separate the factory from the storage area”, comments Chris, “We looked at using someone local for this job but it was just too big and we wanted to make sure we had a professional solution. MCM recommended Wickens and I am very happy we used them. We have increased our storage capacity by over 60%.”
