Wickens has completed a second contract with plastic building materials supplier C&A Building Plastics.
Since launching a brand new depot last year in Gillingham, Kent, C&A Building Plastics has gone from strength to strength. As a result of its success the leading supplier of plastic building materials needed to create more storage space on site and it approached racking specialist Wickens to design a solution.
Wickens was commissioned to design, engineer and install a 19m x 11m mezzanine floor to enable C&A Building Plastics to store an additional number of pallets at its Gillingham facility. Wickens engineers were also on site during the design stage to ensure that the mezzanine leg supports would fit around existing cutting machinery without limiting access or causing any health and safety issues.
Charles Candlin, managing director of C&A Building Plastics, comments: “We chose Wickens because it has design, manufacturing and installation capabilities in-house at its Worcester headquarters and because of its track record with us. The Wickens team had already proven their capabilities when they managed a sizeable cantilever racking project for us one year ago. Their professionalism and ability to meet our specific needs made them the natural choice for this project.”
